Emmaus Retail Online: Aiding Homeless of Hinckley & Bosworth Whilst Supporting Volunteers
The impact of the Community Volunteer Fund has been transformative, not just for our charity but for individuals within our community. With the funding secured, we were able to purchase a tablet and set up an eBay account for our community store, a vital resource that raises funds for our initiatives. Recognising the potential of our volunteers, we decided to entrust Andy with the management of this new eBay endeavour.
Andy’s journey with the eBay account has been remarkable. From the outset, he approached this responsibility with dedication and enthusiasm. The tablet has been a crucial tool in this process, enabling him to navigate the online marketplace with ease. More than just a means to list items, it has served as a gateway for personal growth.
Andy has seen a surge in his motivation to work and has gained newfound confidence in his abilities—an essential aspect of his role within our organization.
Since its launch in February 2025, the eBay initiative has yielded impressive results, generating £9,600 in funding for our charity. This financial success is a testament to Andy’s hard work and creativity. His expertise in listing items effectively and engaging with buyers has significantly contributed to our community store's recognition and trustworthiness, as evidenced by our exceptional 99.5% positive rating as a Trusted Seller on eBay.
As we reflect on this journey, it's clear that the provision of resources can ignite a passion for service in individuals. We look forward to seeing how this initiative continues to evolve, fostering further growth and innovation within our community. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected future.
“Supporting individuals and groups through simple acts of service creates ripples of resilience throughout the entire community.”

“We thank you for your help and support in facilitating a working defibrillator unit on site. Obviously, we hope it is not required, but there is now peace of mind that we have one readily available as timing is everything with heart attacks”
